The Services I offer

Tutoring

As a full time teacher, I am always looking for opportunities to tutor students. As a Stanford alumnus, I am well equipped to tackle any homework problems your child may have.

Development

In my spare time, I enjoy developing websites. Always on the lookout for new challenges and opportunities, I am currently learning front and back end development.

Conference Organizing

In the upcoming year, I will have finished organizing two national business conferences in Silicon Valley. I am always looking to share my logistical expertise.

Photography

Having formerly been a photographer for Stanford University's Residential & Dining Enterprises, I am excited to get behind my camera for any events you may have.

Hello, I am Michael Hamamoto...

I'm a educational advocate and tech enthusiast living in the Bay Area. I have worked with organizations like the California Department of Education and Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Since 2013, I have worked both as a high school and middle school special education teacher in the West Contra Costa Unified School District. Presently, I teach middle school math and science to a group of wonderful students. In spite of their significant intellectual disabilities, they are some of the most engaged students I've ever worked with. Each day I see the wonder on their face as I mentor them and aid their academic development. Last year, 100% of my graduating seniors went on to pursue degrees at colleges throughout the Bay Area. Education is not just a job for me, it's an incredibly rewarding passion.

As a 2013 Stanford alumnus, following graduation, I immediately jumped into the classroom. I felt a need to give back for all my educational blessings. June 5th, 2015 will mark my last day in the classroom, and I am now looking for the next chapter in my life. I am currently seeking opportunities that marry my enthusiasm for educational equity with my interest in technology. If you think we'd be a good match, please be in touch.

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group's annual Education Summit brings together industry executives, education leaders, policy makers, and elected officials to learn from leaders in the field and to actively engage in conversations about regional initiatives, programs, and policies that help shape the pre-K through higher education systems here in Silicon Valley.

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group is a public policy business trade organization. The Leadership Group was founded in 1978 by David Packard of Hewlett-Packard and represents more than 390 of Silicon Valley’s most respected employers on issues, programs and campaigns that affect the economic health and quality of life in Silicon Valley, including energy, transportation, education, housing, health care, tax policies, economic vitality and the environment. Leadership Group members collectively provide nearly one of every three private sector jobs in Silicon Valley and contribute more than $3 trillion to the worldwide economy.

OUTC 2014

http://www.outforundergrad.org/our-conferences/technology/

The Out for Undergrad Technology Conference (OUTC) is aimed at University Program students interested in careers at the world’s leading technology companies. At the conference, UP students develop strategies for managing and leveraging their identity in the technology sector. Conference programming includes informational panels with professionals emphasizing careers in tech, talks by inspirational tech entrepreneurs, sector-specific resume review, mentor discussions, a career fair with top Silicon Valley software firms, and numerous networking events. This year's OUTC will take place at Twitter headquarters in San Francisco.

Out for Undergrad (O4U) is focused on advancing undergraduate LGBT leaders in their professional lives. O4U hosts two annual conferences (OUBC, OUTC) and educational and social events year-round for students and alumni.

The annual conferences bring together the nation's most high potential undergraduate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) leaders for a weekend of education, inspiration, community development and career recruitment.

OUBC and OUTC include informational events about various positions in students’ chosen fields, from basic 101s to more in-depth conversations. Students will also have resume reviews, mentor discussions, a career fair, hear from inspirational community leaders, and attend many networking events where they will have the opportunity to interact with peers and professionals.

Outside of the annual conferences, O4U offers mentoring relationships to students and social events for past attendees and friends with the aim of creating a strong and supportive community of out LGBT professionals.
